Latest news 01/11/20: TSSC CLOSURE In accordance with the Government requirements the Club will close on Wednesday evening, 04 NOV 20. No activities can take place from then until further notice, and the booking system will close. The Committee will review the situation on 30 NOV 20 in the light of any further Government advice. The situation is regrettable but it is to be hoped it will be a helpful contribution to keeping everyone safe. Best wishes The Committee 01/07/20 Following government announcements of the easing of social distancing and in line with other advice, the committee is pleased to announce that the use of club boats will now be brought forward into the current phase 1 reopening plan. As from Wednesday 1st July we will allow members to “loan” a club boat for a 4 day period for their exclusive use, before returning the boat to storage to undergoing a 3 day “quarantine” period, prior to being available to loan again. Club boat loans must be reserved through our on line booking system and are being offered on a staggered starting day - To accommodate a weekend day or days and to prevent numbers exceeding our current sailing limit each day. Loan days start on Weds, Thurs, Fri and Sat, with a range of boats available for each 4 day loan period. ** All boat loans will be Free of charges whilst the current COVID-19 restrictions are in place ** Book a sailing slot or loan boat on our booking pages here Return to the Water The committee has been working hard over the past week to develop procedures and documentation to support a phased plan for reopening the club. These were submitted to Yorkshire Water Authority on Monday. The club will be open for restricted sailing and paddling activities from 06 JUN 20. All Club buildings and the Club compound will remain closed. The fishermen’s toilets are not maintained by the Club and Members use them at their own risk. The club will be accessible to a restricted number of water users and boat park users, controlled by a booking system. Members can use the water alone, or with members of their household, but should adhere closely to Government COVID -19 procedures and guidelines. No racing is organised. There will be no safety boat cover, so take care to sail within your capabilities. The Committee particularly encourages the use of masthead floats on double-handers at this time. The booking system, which is accessed from the TSSC website, has 16 water activity slots and 4 maintenance slots in each session. On weekdays a session will be all day and at weekends there will be two half day sessions. Please do not go to the club if you do not have a booking, as the booking system provides our track and trace system. Please carefully read the guidelines before booking a slot, and follow these carefully at all times when on site. The Club car parking is available and we ask you to wear gloves and use the disinfecting spray on the entrance gate before and after using. Everyone must maintain social distancing of at least 2 metres from those outside their household at all times. Please be conservative and considerate in your actions at the reservoir. Please be as self-sufficient as possible by bringing your own equipment, food, drink, spare clothing, first aid kit, tool box and sanitising wipes. Newly installed signage will provide information to help you reduce your risks. Please follow all instructions and inform the Committee if you feel that more controls are needed to protect members. Please maintain social distancing in the car park, the dinghy park when rigging boats, and on the slipway and the foreshore while launching / recovering craft. Assistance with berthing, trolleys, launching and recovery should be limited to household groups. If you think you or any members of your household have the symptoms of the virus stay at home. Members who are in ‘vulnerable group’ are encouraged to take a conservative approach and avoid the Club at the present time. Welcome back to the Water ! Please enjoy it safely for yourself and for others. Keep Safe TSSC COMMITTEE
